This piece still needs some tweaking and some add ons, but is almost finished. I really love circular motifs and enigmatic backdrops with near ethereal creatures. I also like to use words like "enigmatic" and "ethereal". Scintillate is a pretty awesome word that I can't use here.
Apparently full blooded wolves do not have blue eyes. I think this creature transcends such earthly bindings like genetic pigmentation. Ha!

Tscha real wolves don't have blue eyes tscha tscha
I still think you need to darken the eye markings and put a forehead diamond on it and make the eyes yellow BUT THATS JUST ME YANNO.
I want a print of this. I'm glad to finally see this uploaded somewhre. Its GORGEMOUS.

Blue eyes
Actually, they do. I asked Dave Mech (the wolf biologist) about it and he's seen (at the time I asked) at least 4 blue eyed wolves and even trapped/radio collared one in Minnesota, which he mentions in a book- The Wolves of Minnesota.
However, in dogs, having blue eyes can often accompany serious problems such as poor/no vision, deafness, mental 'issues' etc...so it's possible that blue eyes are an adaptive disadvantage which is why they are so rarely seen and have to basically be selectively bred for.

Oh good. I always disagreed with the idea that wolves don't have blue eyes, even if it was just for HEY I think they are pretty reasons. :P
wolfpaw999
very cool almost lifelike!

Wow, I didn't know that about wolves! I love the fur details, although in my opinion, the nose needs a bit more texture
